at the end of a long day...

after a nice long day of working around all these canons and nikons and sonys and olympuses (olympi?), it's nice to come home to my bby. as in, my k-x. <3. so for a minimum 20 hours part-time gig at futureshop, i've worked not bad hours at all this week. and by not bad, i mean a holyfuckshitton, for me anyways. just added it up to 38 hours this week, sunday to sunday. holy jesus. and working monday to friday...


don't get me wrong, i like having the hours, and today was especially nice simply because i got to talk so much about dSLRs, which is always fun since that's what i know a lot and actually wanna talk about. it's just that my ass will be sore after my tests are done with me this week; i'll have only about 2-3 hours' study time this week (not factoring in the drive home, the dinner-eating, and the inevitable procrastinating).

what also is kinda meh is that my camera, my sexy fa43, da15, et al, get no loving in this current schedule. as such, i have to make to do with some home snaps...so much for buying a film camera to refresh, i don't even have time to refresh. actually, all this inability to go out for photos is plenty refreshment - i have such a craving to go on a photowalk to anywhere, anytime, anything. next friday is a pro-d day, and i'm pretty sure i'm not scheduled to work then. next friday is an eternity from now.

but anyways, here're the few snaps i've tried to suppress my photo urges (unsuccessfully) with in the past day or two:

i think march was a huge month, photo-wise for me. i had the most keepers, and the best keepers, of any month since i've started my monthly system. the funny thing was, nobody seemed to be all that enthusiastic about my street shots that i posted. it's sad, cause i really, really like those, and street photography is pretty damn fun...maybe they just think it's being creepy. well, sucks to their ass-mars:

i think i've found that when i spontaneously come up with a title for shots, it means i quite like them. though sometimes i have shots i love but can't think of names for. anyways.

also, exciting news: first shift!

here's me looking overdressed in my $90 shoes >.> though at least i won't have to go formal shoes shopping when i go suit shopping.

also, i have a bio quiz tmrw, chem lab, and DELF, all in these next one or two days, and so if i have a shift tomorrow i'm fucked for DELF ^___^. in happier news, i got laid. not really. next best thing? i picked up this sexy lady:

pentax ME super, SE. omg, words can't describe what it's like to hold this thing/play with it. it's so small, but so solid. and now i know why people want full-frame for the viewfinder. i never had a problem with the my k-x's viewfinder, but once i looked through this thing's VF....it's bloody huge in comparison to the k-x's. my god this is awesome. after some googling, it looks like Fujifilm Superia is pretty good, and cheap, so this weekend i'll have to pick up a roll and play around. i won't be using it often, of course - i'll get broke in a week if i do. but it'll be fun to go through a roll a month or so, just to refresh and unwind from everything...HCB it up. 

wow, this was really lackluster in comparison to my enthusiasm for it. ah well. i can't write well right now due to the shitton of things going on so w/eeee. i'll re-enthusiasm this shit up once i get some film in this bby ;D

in the morning light, i couldn't pass up this shot on the way to school. i quite like it.

then, later, i had the opportunity to do some street shooting while otw home from an SFU surry campus tour thing. i'm really, really happy with the results:

not extremely happy with the flare here though, the fa43 should be better than this....? though in its defense the sun is really goddamn big here. but it was pretty small in later test shots i did and that still showed some ghosting...wo bu jiu dao. hopefully i haven't screwed up coatings by cleaning it too much :/ though it's supposedly pretty tough to hurt coatings.

first image of the post with the DA15, all street stuff with FA43. i think this just confirms that i'd really really love to walk around downtown or granville island or something one day, no bag, no nothing, just my camera and the one lens with me, and shoot all day. it'll be gudtimes.
